About Cottingley

Cottingley is a well-established residential area in south-west Leeds, known for its mix of housing, strong community feel, and green surroundings. Located between Beeston and Churwell, it has great access to Leeds city centre and the M621. The area is perhaps most famous for the historic Cottingley Fairies photographs from the early 20th century, which attracted international attention and folklore interest.

Today, Cottingley offers a mix of homes including houses, bungalows, and high-rise flats like the well-known Cottingley Towers. It’s a practical and popular place to live, with schools, parks, and local amenities all within easy reach. I’ve carried out work in many properties in Cottingley and understand the quirks and layout of the area’s housing stock.
